Dealing with Big Clients

I was asked about what it's like working with big clients so I thought I would explain what it has been like from my experience through the Summers Fellowship Program. Through the program as stated before I have been working and assisting on shoots with fellow photographer and UArts alum Lou Caltabiano. I would say the biggest clients we have had so far was SLAM Magazine, and NBC Sports. Working with SLAM Magazine in my opinion, I feel like the clients were a bit more relaxed. We were working with SLAM to shoot the cover of a recent issue starring 76ers Ben Simmons. Ben seemed very chill and for the most part seemed like he was sorta enjoying himself. He was very comfortable in front of the camera, even giving his own opinions on some shots. Ben and his team made sure they had their hands in on the project. On the other hand, the shoot with NBC Sports was a mixture of vibes. We were shooting the Baltimore Ravens for NBC Sports. Like Ben, a lot of the players seemed to enjoy themselves as we made them as comfortable as possible. There were some players who just aren't comfortable in front of the camera which isn't uncommon. I would have to say that Michael Crabtree was our toughest player to shoot. He seemed like he just wanted to do something else, and had a bit of an attitude. Us being their to work, we didn't pay it that much attention and we just made his portion of the shoot as quick as possible so he could go about his day. In the end everyone is different, and you just have to be able to adapt in the workspace.
