Second Travel
Today I had summer camp in the morning, a parent and me class around 11:30 and the travel to Partners in the afternoon. It was a pretty crazy day but it was still good. Summer camp was pretty easy this morning. I really just spent the morning labeling and helping the kids get clay and paint. We had quite a few kids this morning which meant that I really got to work with them. I have never done a parent and me class before but it was very interesting. We thought we were only going to have 4 kids but we ended up having six. There were two parents that had two kids. After Shea did a demo the parents got the work with the kids and make a pinch pot with an animal on it. I spent the time getting clay for them and getting paint out for them. The ages for this class is 2-6 since the parent gets to do the project with them and help them as they go. It was fun to get to work with the really little kids. I haven’t gotten to work with that age group yet so it was...
Remark Glass
Soooo my names Gina Rose and my summer fellowship was working with Remark Glass, they only used recycled bottles to form their art. Creating many different functional glass pieces including rocks glasses, champagne flutes, mugs, bowls, candle holders, planters and light fixtures. The colors of bottles can very tricky sometimes there's such a slight vary in the color you can't determine if it's a forest green or dark olive. There is such a large variety of colors in bottles it surprised me! As I started my first job was to start to sort the bottle volt as they call it by each other bottle. There were tons of hundreds of bottles of all shapes and sizes I had no idea where to begin. Another amazing this Remark produces is called their Keepsake collection. Its recycling from a pervious celebration or a collection that some have came about over the years. The bottles then are transformed into cups, bowls, vases and lighting.
love it!
